VIRTUES AF

Virtual AF is a model of care that integrates patient health data with accumulating clinical and digital data and guideline-informed interventions targeted to the needs of patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).

VIRTUES AF will provide evolving arrhythmia care to the patients and caregivers remotely.
The platform will be used by highly symptomatic AF patients awaiting catheter ablation or who have had a recent catheter ablation.
Patients will be provided with an AF care plan and, in accordance with the needs of the specific patients and caregivers, personalized education.

Highlights

Currently, we have engaged clinical experts across Canada to design the management modules and adapt intervention guidelines for:
- LV Function and Heart Failure
- AF Rate Control
- Rhythm Control for AF
- AF-Thromboembolic Prevention,
- Symptom/Rhythm Correlation
A patient working group has been established consisting of a patient study co-lead and 7 additional patients to help in the design and development of the VIRTUES-AF care sets and related educational materials
